Nevertheless, Cornwall and its people are often ill-served by the British government; the Anglocentric political parties look after areas where their votes are centred and Cornish MPs rarely form the Government. So does the British establishment support the rights of the Cornish? Does the UK Government recognise the Cornish as a people? Does the state provide for Cornish culture as it provides for other cultures? The answers to all these questions, unfortunately, is be a resounding ‘no’. Hence there are a number of Cornish organisations dedicated to ensuring that the interests of Cornwall, and the people who live here, are kept on the agenda.
