Four wave generators will produce enough energy for about 7,500 homes. There has been concern regarding possible negative effects of the generators by those in Newquay with surf concerns. Andrew George MP has raised worries about the navigational safety of shipping and in particular the fishing industry. In welcoming the project, he said he wanted to ensure that profit generated by the wave hub benefited the Cornish economy. |
